Chelsea Vs Everton Highlights Today

Chelsea Held to Draw by Everton, Cole Palmer's Debut Goal Not Enough

Palmer Makes Chelsea Debut with Opening Goal

Cole Palmer made his long-awaited Chelsea debut on Monday night, scoring the opening goal in the Blues' 2-2 draw against Everton. The 19-year-old midfielder has been on the fringes of the first-team for much of the season, but he was handed his chance to impress by manager Graham Potter.

Palmer did not disappoint, opening the scoring with a well-taken finish from close range after just 10 minutes. However, Everton fought back to equalize before half-time through Anthony Gordon. The Toffees then took the lead for the first time in the match when Demarai Gray scored a stunning goal in the second half.

Chelsea Salvage a Point

Chelsea eventually salvaged a point thanks to a late goal from Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccan winger was on target in the 81st minute, ensuring that the Blues extended their unbeaten run to four matches. Despite the draw, Chelsea remain in fourth place in the Premier League table, four points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth.

Everton, meanwhile, moved up to 11th place with the point. The Toffees have now won just two of their last 10 matches, but they will be buoyed by their performance at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer's performance will also give Potter something to think about. The Chelsea manager has been dealing with a number of injuries in midfield, and Palmer's impressive display could earn him a more regular role in the team.
