Dominant Performance Extends Championship Lead

Max Verstappen secured a comfortable victory in the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix sprint race, further extending his championship lead over Sergio Perez. The Red Bull driver started third but quickly dispatched Nico Hülkenberg to take an early lead.
Verstappen controlled the pace throughout the 24-lap race, building a substantial gap over his rivals. Perez held on to second place, while Lando Norris finished third for McLaren. The top three drivers retained their starting positions for Sunday's main race.
Hülkenberg, who started on pole position for Haas, dropped to fourth after a poor start. Fernando Alonso and George Russell rounded out the top six for Alpine and Mercedes, respectively.
Verstappen's commanding victory strengthens his position atop the championship standings. He now holds a 70-point advantage over Perez, with six races remaining in the season. The Dutchman is poised to extend his reign as Formula 1 world champion.
