Olmos Late Strike Downs Red And Blacks

Albania concede two in EURO loss to Spain

Olmo's late strike downs Red and Blacks

Albania have now conceded two goals in each of their last two games at UEFA EURO 2024, following a 4-3 defeat to Spain on Monday evening.

The Red and Blacks had taken the lead through Armando Broja in the first half, but Spain hit back with goals from Pablo Sarabia, Carlos Soler and Ferran Torres to take control of the game. Myrto Uzuni pulled a goal back for Albania with 15 minutes remaining, but Dani Olmo's stoppage-time winner sealed the victory for Spain.

The defeat leaves Albania bottom of Group A with one point from their opening two games. They will face Croatia in their final group game on Friday, while Spain will take on Italy.

Albania's defensive frailties were once again exposed against Spain, as they conceded four goals for the second time in a row. The Red and Blacks have now conceded eight goals in their last two games, and will need to improve their defensive record if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.

Spain, meanwhile, will be pleased to have got their EURO 2024 campaign off to a winning start. Luis Enrique's side showed their attacking prowess against Albania, and will be confident of making a deep run in the tournament.
